Borja Valero’s four match ban after being sent off against Parma has been reduced by one game, it has been confirmed.
The Fiorentina man was given the additional punishment after laying hands on the referee as he protested the initial decision to give him his marching orders.
The Viola promptly appealed against the sanction and the governing bodies have now decided to shorten the ban.
The Spaniard has already served one game of his suspension last week as his side lost to Lazio.
He will now miss the club’s next two, rather than three, Serie A encounters against Juventus and Chievo.
Elsewhere however, three match bans handed out to Roma’s Daniele De Rossi and Inter’s Juan Jesus for punching opposition players last weekend have been upheld.
