Juan Cuadrado hopes that his performance against Chievo will earn him a place in the Fiorentina side to face Juventus in midweek.
La Viola face off against the Bianconeri on Thursday in the second leg of their Europa League Last 16 tie and head into it off the back of a 3-1 win over Chievo.
On the scoresheet last night, Cuadrado admitted afterwards he was looking to convince Vincenzo Montella to select him in midweek, having omitted him from the starting line-up for the first leg last week.
“One always wants to play, it was a technical choice for me to not go,” the Colombian winger has reflected to reporters this week.
“And I took it with respect. Here was an opportunity and I provided my contribution. I have to train to play and I will give my all to be there on Thursday against Juve.
“It was very important to win here [on Sunday evening], the teams are all in there for the fight for Europa League qualification.
“Certainly we felt tired, in front of us we had a great team in Chievo who put us in difficulty.”
