Swansea City manager Gary Monk is hopeful defender Ashley Williams will remain at the club despite reported interest from Napoli.
The Azzurri have been linked with the Swans club captain throughout the season but his boss doesn’t envisage any problems.
“I hope Williams stays with us for as long as possible,” Monk told reporters. “I want him here for a long time.
“The names of good players like Williams get linked to big clubs, I think that’s normal.
“But for us he is an important player and we need to do what we can to keep him with us.
“He is a good lad, the club is in his heart and he wants the best for us.
“I know he is happy here so I don’t see any problems, though I haven’t spoken to him about his future yet.”
