Sassuolo’s Domenico Barardi says his side will be all but relegated if they fail to beat Chievo in their next Serie A match.
The Neroverdi earned a 1-1 draw at home to Cagliari on Saturday but with games running out they sit three points off safety.
Speaking as he prepared to join Italy’s 42-man test squad, the player said it was a dream to be on international duty.
“It’s a great experience to be here,” Barardi told reporters. “Everyone here my age or even younger dreams of being here and I will relish it.
“Di Francesco has told me to enjoy it until the end because I deserve it. I will enjoy it and then we’ll see what happens in the coming days.
“As for Sassuolo, we have the game of our lives against Chievo and we need to win it.
“Otherwise we will have nothing more to play for.”
