Gonzalo Rodriguez believes that Fiorentina have to be at the top of their game to overcome Napoli this weekend.

The Viola face the Partenopei in the final of the Coppa Italia at Rome’s Stadio Olimpico.

And the defender has admitted that his men have to play their very best if they want to come away with the trophy.

“The fans have confidence in us, in our game,” he told reporters this afternoon.

“We don’t want to fail for them.

“But we also know that we can’t relax against Napoli, because they could make us suffer. We need to be fully concentrated throughout the game.”

The centre back then commented on Gonzalo Higuain who, if he plays, is unlikely to be 100 per cent after an injury last week.

“We know he’s important to them, but we’re just thinking about ourselves. They are favourites because they have a squad built for the Champions League.

“But we go to Rome looking to win and entertain the fans.”

Finally, the Argentine, who used to play for Villarreal, remarked on the incident that saw Dani Alves have a banana thrown at him at El Madrigal.

“What happened at the weekend is an isolated incident. We should not judge the entire club on that.

“But we are all united behind Alves against racism.”
