Manuel Rui Costa urged Fiorentina to “bring the Coppa Italia back to Florence” against Napoli tonight.
The Final kicks off at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome at 20.00 UK time (19.00 GMT).
“I am truly disappointed that I cannot be there to cheer on Fiorentina, but I wish the team good luck for the game against Napoli,” Benfica director Rui Costa told Firenzeviola.it.
This is the club’s first Final since 2001, when they beat Parma in a last hurrah before sliding into bankruptcy and resuming from Serie C.
“The last time, with the Viola jersey on my back, I was the one lifting that trophy. That remains an unforgettable moment for me.
“Come on lads, bring the Coppa Italia back to Florence, as you deserve it and so do all the fans. I hope that I’ll become only the penultimate Viola captain to have lifted the trophy.
“My pride remains the same, as certain emotions cannot be cancelled out. Forza Viola!”
