The mother of the Napoli fan who was shot before Saturday’s Coppa Italia Final has revealed some of the messages of support her son has received.
Ciro Esposito is still in hospital after suffering gunshot wounds in Rome at the weekend, but his mother has told reporters how teams from all over Italy have united together.
“A guy came with a Cosenza shirt a few days ago,” Antonella Leardi told Tuttosport.
“He said he hopes Ciro can wear it one day, whilst yesterday, another two Fiorentina fans came with some shirts and a scarf.”
Vicenzo Esposito, Ciro’s uncle, had some good news regarding the man’s health.
“There is a slight improvement with Ciro. At five this morning the doctors came in and told us that they were cautiously optimistic.”
