“You’d have to ask him. Maybe it was proposed to him and he has taken time to think… I don’t think there will be any problems.
“This isn’t just a conversation about money, but also staff, prospects, transfers and plans. These things take time, but I am certain that at the end Mazzarri will be happy to stay with us.
“I don’t see any problems for a renewal and haven’t thought about any other Coach. He will be our Coach, whether he renews or not.”
Ausilio confirmed today that Inter had declined to offer new contracts for Esteban Cambiasso and Diego Milito, while Walter Samuel is also expected to leave and Javier Zanetti is retiring.
“It is impossible to think we’ll have our squad completed by July 9. Inter are becoming financially self-sufficient, so any project must be based on economic certainties. We will have a balanced transfer strategy with resources coming from sales, exchanges or other interesting situations.
“Plus the World Cup is delaying many deals, as it becomes a strategic factor for those who want to sell and make money.
“It is difficult to think of finishing with a positive balance sheet and improving the team simultaneously…”
With so many veterans leaving Inter, one of the candidates for the captain’s armband is Andrea Ranocchia.
“We have already talked and want to extend his contract to build an even stronger Inter. He can sign a new deal without problems,” added Ausilio.
“Ranocchia is a serious candidate for the captain’s armband, considering the number of appearances. He is Italian and has great values.”
