Colombia “deserve” to play their historic World Cup quarter-final against Brazil, said Coach Jose Pekerman.
Los Cafeteros have won every game so far and a spectacular James Rodriguez brace sank Uruguay 2-0, sending them through to their first ever quarter-final.
“We knew who we were going up against,” said Pekerman at the Maracana.
“Uruguay are a very difficult team and they have a great Coach.
“It is very important to know your opponents. All of our work has yielded its results.
“Congratulations to all the Colombian public. The people of Colombia deserve it and I am happy to be here.”
