Lega Pro President Mario Macalli has slammed comments by Andrea Agnelli attacking Cesare Prandelli and Giancarlo Abete.
The Juventus President yesterday accused former Italy Coach Prandelli and ex-FIGC President Abete of abandoning their country in their hour of need, after both men resigned from their posts in the immediate aftermath of the Azzurri’s World Cup elimination.
However, speaking to Sport Mediaset today Macalli accused Agnelli of hypocrisy, stating that the businessman himself was guilty of fleecing the country through his past dealings.
“I work and I pay my taxes, he and his family have fleeced Italy,” Macalli argued.
“Let’s try to be less offensive because they are not the Lord’s anointed ones! All they have is their surname and without that, maybe they would be going to a machine every morning and we’d see how much they could produce every hour.
“I eat at home, I don’t go to eat with the Italian government’s money.”
