Lazio are reportedly closing in on both Davide Astori and Stefan de Vrij, but there remains work to do in the respective deals.
The Aquile are in the market for centre-backs to replace Giuseppe Biava and Andre Dias and have been continually linked with both Astori and De Vrij.
La Repubblica suggest that agreements with both players are all but reached, but that different aspects are still to be resolved with their respective clubs.
Astori is reported to have reached agreement on personal terms with Lazio following another meeting with Claudio Lotito yesterday, and his agents are expected to take the next step.
That is apparently to return to Cagliari and inform the club of the defender’s intention to either accept or reject the contract renewal they have put forward to try and keep the 27-year-old. It is expected that the renewal will be turned down in favour of accepting the transfer out.
Meanwhile, the deal for De Vrij reportedly still hinges on negotiations between Lazio and Feyenoord over valuation, with the Dutch outfit pushing for €10m against Lotito’s apparent offer of between €7m and €8m.
