Fiorentina have confirmed that they have agreed a deal with Monterrey for the transfer of Jose Maria Basanta.
The 30-year-old Argentina international has been in negotiations with La Viola for over a month and indications a move was on the horizon grew in recent days.
Following his Mexican employers’ confirmation of an agreed deal, Fiorentina have now confirmed that they reached agreement.
“Fiorentina announces that it has reached an agreement with Monterrey for the outright purchase of Jose Maria Basanta, subject to the successful arrangement of medical examinations and that the contract is signed by the player,” the club have stated.
It is understood that the deal will see Vincenzo Montella’s men pay out €2.5m for the defender.
