The Fiorentina striker has flown out the United States ahead of diagnostic keyhole surgery on his knee on Friday.

Florence outlet La Nazione anticipates that on from that procedure, the player will likely return home on September 10 and begin a seven-day immediate phase of physiotherapy and rehabilitation.

It is speculated that the 27-year-old will then return to Italy to continue his recovery by September 17.

La Nazione reiterate, though, that much depends on the player’s physical response to early post-op treatment, as well as if any damage to the ligament is discovered.

Speculation elsewhere has been that in the event of an all-clear, Rossi still faces between six weeks and two months on the sidelines.
