Sparta Prague Coach Vitezslav Lavicka insists they “will not just defend ourselves” against Napoli tomorrow.

They visit the Stadio San Paolo on Thursday at 20.05 UK time (19.05 GMT) in the Europa League group phase.

“When we play in an international competition, we want to impress people, which is true both of the club and the players,” said Lavicka in his Press conference.

“After all, one of my players was in negotiations with an Italian club, so this is a good shop window for him. We all can’t wait to play this game.

“We have the experience to take on Napoli. We are lacking a little determination in the final third, but we’re working on it. I hope that tomorrow we can already see a change there.”

Lavicka assured Sparta Prague will not come to Naples with the idea of playing catenaccio.

“I use the same system as Benitez, but we certainly will not just defend ourselves. Quite the opposite. Napoli are full of excellent players and we did not come here to defend.

“Benitez is an experienced Coach and wherever he has worked, he gave his teams a good style of football.”

Meanwhile, there is something of a diplomatic incident, as the official Sparta Prague website posted a statement warning fans to beware of the increased chances of encountering criminals while in Naples for the game.
