It was a surprise announcement today that Honorary President Moratti had tended his resignation, along with Board of Directors members AngeloMario Moratti, Rinaldo Ghelfi and Alberto Manzonetto.

“I respect Mr Moratti’s decision,” Thohir told Sport Mediaset ahead of tonight’s Europa League match with Saint-Etienne.

“I met him and we had a discussion. The relations between the two families won’t change. He wants to support me and I think the media can ask him.

“At the same time, as the President I think I have to review some of the operations at the club."

It is rumoured Moratti resigned because he wanted Inter to sack Coach Walter Mazzarri after one point from three Serie A rounds.
