Adil Rami made his right-back debut in the Milan derby. “If a mechanic can become a professional…”
The centre-back played as a right-back this evening, as Ignazio Abate, Daniele Bonera and Alex were all unavailable.
“It was very tough for me, as it’s the first time in my career that I have played at right-back,” Rami told Sky Sport Italia after a 1-1 draw.
“I played with courage, heart and wanted to give my all for Milan. We didn’t have anyone for the right, so I adapted to help the team.
“I used to be a mechanic and nobody thought I could be a professional football player, so why can’t I as a centre-back be a right-back?” he grinned.
“We tried to play our football, but Inter are a good team and they only scored I think due to our error. We had the chances to win this game.
“Third place? It’s far away, but we have time.”
