Milan have confirmed that the club has extended its sponsorship agreement with airline Fly Emirates.

Reports earlier today had indicated that the deal could be worth up to €90m, representing an increase of around €25m from the previous deal with the shirt sponsor.

Speaking at a Press conference, Rossonero joint-CEO Barbara Berlusconi and Emirates Airlines CEO Tim Clark declined to comment on the figures involved, but confirmed that significant bonuses were included in the deal.

“I can not talk about the numbers,” Berlusconi told assembled media at Casa Milan.

“I can only say that it is an important agreement. We both believe in the same values and therefore I think it is an agreement with which we can be very satisfied.

“Milan is the most popular Italian club worldwide, so this agreement is very important for our brand.

“Emirates also sponsors other big European clubs like Arsenal, PSG and Real Madrid.

“For privacy, and out of respect for our two companies, unfortunately I can not disclose the numbers involved in the deal, I can only confirm that it will run until 2020.

“There is a fixed amount and a variable amount, as always in these types of deal.

“If Milan get good results, we’ll have access to more resources.

“The sporting side is a concern for [joint-CEO Adriano] Galliani, we have two well-defined roles and he takes care of the sporting side. The club’s goal remains to return to the Champions League as soon as possible.”
