Manchester City Coach Manuel Pellegrini confirmed Sergio Aguero is “probably” out of the Champions League clash with Roma.

Only one of these two teams can progress in the competition and they go head-to-head on Wednesday night at the Stadio Olimpico.

“It’s impossible to know how long he’ll be out,” said Pellegrini after Aguero limped off in tears during today’s 1-0 win over Everton.

“Sergio has a problem with the ligament in his knee,” he said. “We’ll see tomorrow how serious it is, but it’s not good news. I don’t think he will be able to play next week.

“We must wait for the doctor – the important thing is that he will not be able to play against Roma, which for us is a very important game.”

There were also concerns over Edin Dzeko, who “was able to play a maximum 25, 30 minutes, no more” today.

Vincent Kompany has a hamstring problem, David Silva a knee injury and Stevan Jovetic a hamstring twinge.

Yaya Touré is also suspended for Wednesday’s showdown.

Roma will progress if they win or draw 0-0, but any other scoreline will see Manchester City through.
