There are reports Atletico Madrid have a clause allowing them to sell Alessio Cerci in June, interrupting his Milan loan.

The exchange with Fernando Torres is in full swing and should be on the basis of 18-month loans.

However, Sky Sport Italia claims there is a clause in the agreement that means Milan have very little actual hold on Cerci’s future.

Atletico Madrid would have the option to sell the ex-Torino winger over the summer if the right offer came in.

Atletico Madrid would have the option to sell the ex-Torino winger over the summer if the right offer came in.

Milan would either have to match that bid or allow Cerci to leave just six months into his loan deal.

Meanwhile, on Saturday Chelsea formally announced they will sell Torres to Milan, making the two-year loan into a permanent deal.

It is not clear whether the Rossoneri had to pay any money for this transfer, but to all intents and purposes Torres had been given to them for free anyway in August.

He arrived on a two-year loan agreement, which would allow Torres to see out the remaining two years of his contract before becoming a free agent.

It’s a remarkable comedown considering Chelsea paid a then-British record £50m to sign him from Liverpool in 2011.
