Juventus midfielder Romulo has reportedly rejected the opportunity to return to Verona in the January window.

The Brazilian joined the Bianconeri on loan in the summer for a fee of €1m with the option to buy the player outright this summer for €6m.

The Old Lady would be obliged to buy the 27-year-old outright if he were to play 60 per cent of their games this season, but with the former Fiorentina man having played a total of 97 minutes this term that seems unlikely.

Romulo has struggled with injury, and had been linked with an early return to Verona, after failing to break into the Juventus team. However, according to Gianluca Di Marzio’s website, the player has rejected that opportunity.

It’s believed that Romulo still believes he can fight for his place in Turin, and is not willing to return to a relegation battle with Verona.
