“The Ivorian striker Seydou Doumbia made a permanent switch to AS Roma today. PFC CSKA thanks Seydou for his contribution in the successes of the team in the past years and wishes all the best in his future career!”

The 27-year-old forward is currently on African Cup of Nations duty with the Ivory Coast.

“Negotiations for Doumbia are going well and we are about to close the deal,” CSKA Moscow director general Roman Babaev told sport.ru earlier today.

“We are discussing a permanent sale. Is it a move worth €14m? No, the figures are a little higher than that.”
