“I had a difficult moment, but it’s also true that I was out injured for almost a year,” he told Rai Sport after tonight’s 2-0 quarter-final victory at the Stadio Olimpico.

“I had a difficult moment, but it’s also true that I was out injured for almost a year,” he told Rai Sport after tonight’s 2-0 quarter-final victory at the Stadio Olimpico.

“I needed strength to get to my best and now that I am in good shape, I have become more decisive in front of goal.

“I never doubted my quality. I want to talk about the team, though, as tonight we played a great game. In defence as in attack we showed quality and grit.”

Fiorentina will now face Juventus in the semi-finals.
