Mario Balotelli is improving thanks to Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers, claims Mino Raiola. “He was never asked to run off the ball before.”

The Italy striker has started just one match in the last four months and is not expected to remain at Anfield a year beyond the £16m signing from Milan.

Nonetheless, agent Raiola told French radio station RMC that it was a learning curve for SuperMario.

“Right now, I think Mario makes a very interesting development for his career,” said the representative.

Nonetheless, agent Raiola told French radio station RMC that it was a learning curve for SuperMario.

“Right now, I think Mario makes a very interesting development for his career,” said the representative.

“He found a Coach who asks him things that had been never requested of him until now. He was never asked to run off the ball before.

“This allows him to grow as a person and as a football player. He will come out even stronger. He is proud of his team and that is the most important thing.”

Balo’s work-rate was always an issue in Serie A and for the Italy squad, though perhaps they didn’t have the courage to drop him the way Rodgers has.
