“Nobody can be happy with that result, even if a 2-1 defeat would’ve been fair,” said Mancini in a Press conference following the 3-1 loss in Germany.

“I remain convinced my team is capable of turning the tie around, as we only lost due to individual errors, but right now we have to be concentrated on Cesena.
“As long as there are points available, we can finish third in Serie A and must not forget that the teams in front of us could make a mistake any moment.
“Don’t forget at Manchester City I made up many points against Manchester United, even though today’s situation is not optimal. We’ll see where we are in four games, but it is not impossible for us to finish third.
“Of course, we need to start that comeback by beating Cesena. The Europa League does create fatigue, above all for the travelling, but my players are young and can recover. I’ll evaluate their fitness levels tomorrow.”
Juan Jesus is suspended, Yuto Nagatomo and Jonathan injured, but Mancini insists he will not rest Mauro Icardi.
The striker is one yellow card away from suspension, meaning he could miss the showdown with his old club Sampdoria.
“Icardi must relax and not think about a booking. He will be on the pitch tomorrow. Dias Felipe could get his debut, as he’s useful for his versatility. Davide Santon could rest, as he’s played constantly and some tiredness is normal.”
