Felipe Anderson said Lazio “can aim higher” than third place after beating Torino and confirmed a contract renewal is imminent.

The Brazilian bagged a brace in this evening’s 2-0 away victory, which sent the Aquile three points clear of Napoli in third place.

“We believed in qualifying for the Champions League since the start of the season, even if we didn’t do that well early on,” Anderson told Sky Sport Italia.

“We continued on our path and are now in third place. We should believe in ourselves even more, as we can aim higher!

“On the first goal I was running forward and looking to pass it, but the defender stayed back and so I went for it. I’m glad to have broken the deadlock.”

With his remarkable form and eight Serie A goals this season, a call from Brazil can’t be far away.

“Every player wants to represent his country, but I wait with patience and focus on doing well with Lazio.”

His price-tag has sky-rocketed, but Neymar’s best friend has no intention of leaving the Olimpico.

“The contract renewal is close and hopefully we can complete it soon.”
