Chievo have officially renewed Coach Rolando Maran’s contract for three years. “We’ll continue what we started.”

The tactician had arrived to replace Eugenio Corini in mid-October and steered the club to Serie A safety.

“We are happy to continue what we started with Maran,” explained President Luca Campedelli in a Press conference.

“As far as I am concerned, this agreement began eight years ago. At the time perhaps we didn’t have the right conditions to start together.

“Our paths had to break away and meet again. I have always been convinced of that. This is a union between his capabilities and ours.

“The objective, as always, remains Serie A safety. If we can repeat this season, I’d be happy with that.”

The contract is a three-year deal with an option for a further two years.

“I thank the President for the opportunity that he gives me to continue a journey we started together,” added Maran, who was also a player at Chievo.

“I am proud that I am given this chance and gratified by the faith placed in me.”
