Rossoneri CEO Adriano Galliani paid a visit to the Coach in Spain this week, hoping to convince him to return to San Siro after being sacked by Real Madrid.

“I hope that Ancelotti will return as Milan Coach next year,” Berlusconi told Radio Monte Carlo.

“He’s tied to us by strong affection, and he’s been successful for every team he’s coached. Milan, of course, as well as Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.

“Carlo wanted to give himself a year of rest, Galliani spoke to him for several hours to deal with this issue, and we hope to get him to come immediately next season.

“We already have a very strong team which hasn’t played to its level.

“Despite this, we intend to make major purchases, and I think it’s right to provide significant funding, but the men who are already in the squad are absolutely good enough, and many of them are in the Italian national team.”
