Reports in Italy suggest Matteo Darmian’s move to Manchester United is virtually complete, after a bid was accepted.

It was reported yesterday that the English Premier League side had agreed a deal with the player, and were close to working out a transfer fee with Torino.

Sky Italia is now reporting that a bid has been accepted, with the Granata set to receive €18m plus €2m in bonuses, thereby meeting the full-back’s €20m price tag, or around £14m.

Milan will receive five per cent of the transfer fee, having brought the player through their youth setup.

The news outlet believes Darmian will sign a four-year contract, with wages of between €1.8m-€2m per season. The transfer is expected to be officially announced tomorrow, with finishing touches being applied to the player's contract.

Darmian has been capped 13 times by Italy, and was awarded the Pallone Azzurro earlier this year as the Azzurri’s best player of 2014.
