FIGC President Carlo Tavecchio is confident “Italy are not afraid of Spain” in the 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign.

The Azzurri were paired with Spain, Albania, Israel, Macedonia and Liechtenstein.

“If we are worried about beating Spain, then there’s no point going to a World Cup, as we’d have to beat Argentina, Germany, Brazil….” Tavecchio told Sky Sport Italia.

He was attending tonight’s drawing up of the Serie A calendar for 2015-16.
