A €1.5m loan fee with a €8.5m buyout clause was believed to have been proposed for the striker, who doesn’t appear to be in new Coach Maurizio Sarri’s plans.

However, Trabzonspor’s elimination and subsequent economic loss has reportedly resulted in the Turkish club withdrawing their interest in the player.

The 25-year-old hasn’t made a competitive appearance for the Partenopei since the 2012-13 season, having three loan spells at Gremio, Valencia and Queens Park Rangers since then.
