The director general was interviewed by Sky Sports Italia and was able to discuss extensively the transfer campaign of the Neroverdi.
“Berardi is a player of top value,” he said. “He deserves to be called up to the national team very soon.
“We're happy we were able to keep him this year and we consider him as our own great signing.

“We were very interested in [Davide] Zappacosta and [Daniele] Baselli before Torino [who signed the players this July].
“They were only probes, but those players could have been worthy of Sassuolo.”
There are rumours that full-back Vrsaljko could opt to leave the club, but the director general denied that was an option.
“We don't want to sell him this season. There's no deadline, so he'll be wearing our colours this year too
“We have a good relationship with Juventus, but it's premature to speak of an interest from them for next year.
“We don't want to sell the player, we want to keep him because we're aware that he's a great talent.”
