Milan are due several summits today with Genoa and Zenit for Axel Witsel, Suso, Diego Perotti, Antonio Nocerino and Jose Mauri.
The last few hours of the transfer window are when CEO Adriano Galliani tends to do big business, calling these ‘the days of the Condor.’
Several sources including Sky Sport Italia, La Gazzetta dello Sport and SportItalia are confident Galliani will meet Genoa President Enrico Preziosi at Forte dei Marmi today.
They are set to discuss a possible exchange between Perotti and Suso, as the ex-Liverpool youngster disappointed when given a chance to start in last night’s 2-1 win over Empoli.
Inter have also been linked with Perotti, who rejected a transfer to Watford earlier this summer, but Genoa and Milan regularly exchange players.
Galliani will also hold talks with Zenit St Petersburg directors, who are open to releasing Witsel for €3m loan with mandatory option to buy for another €22m.
The option would be activated the moment he makes 20 appearances for the Rossoneri.
Milan have the upper hand here, but must hurry if they want to stop Juventus intercepting with an offer of their own.
Meanwhile, Jose Mauri has to find a loan club so he can get regular playing time this season.
The options for the ex-Parma midfielder are Sassuolo, Chievo, Carpi and Atalanta.
Nocerino also started against Empoli last night and was hauled off at half-time.
As all Serie A sides must have a squad of maximum 25 players this season, they could just terminate his contract a year early.
Meanwhile, Milan have officially sent striker Andrea Petagna to Serie B team Ascoli. It’s a loan with option and counter-option.
