Borussia Monchengladbach Coach Andre Schubert assures they “do not fear” Juventus in the Champions League.

It kicks off in Turin on Wednesday at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT).

“Are we afraid of playing here? Fear does not exist in football,” insisted the man who took over after Lucien Favre abruptly resigned last month.

“It will be a great challenge against a great team. We are in the same competition, so we’ll fight it out, plus we’ve got some important players back from injury.

“Are we afraid of playing here? Fear does not exist in football,” insisted the man who took over after Lucien Favre abruptly resigned last month.

“It will be a great challenge against a great team. We are in the same competition, so we’ll fight it out, plus we’ve got some important players back from injury.

“Juve haven’t started their domestic season well either. My lads did so much to get the opportunity to play in the Champions League, so we aim to enjoy it.”

Monchengladbach have won their last four Bundesliga games under Schubert and were leading Manchester City only to capitulate 2-1 to a stoppage-time penalty.

“If you play against Manchester City, it’s only natural to run into some difficulties. These are well-organised sides, but Juve play in a very different way to City. It will be a new game.

“There are big clubs in this group and we happily accept the challenge. We’ve been working in a concentrated manner and play very aggressively. We press high and get the ball back quickly, which is fundamental in football.

“We’re trying to gain confidence game after game. The situation is better than at the start of the season and tomorrow we’ll gain experience too.”
