The Swiss international had been out of action since September 23 and had a minor operation to correct an atrial flutter on October 2.

Just a month later, he was thrown into the starting XI and scored in a 1-1 draw away to Borussia Monchengladbach.

“I had not even dreamed of a game like this. I just wanted to win,” he told Mediaset Premium.

“However, considering how the game was going and the fact we were a man down, we can be satisfied with this result.

“It was important for me to be back straight away, despite having just two training sessions with the group.

“This is still a very delicate time. It was important for me to give the team a helping hand.”
