Gabriele Gravina has been elected as the new Lega Pro President, beating Claudio Lotito’s preferred candidate.
Lega Pro is the new name for Serie C, the third tier in Italian football, and previous President Mario Macalli was ousted by clubs.
Lotito is President of Lazio and Salernitana, plus has very close ties to FIGC President Carlo Tavecchio.
Lotito was present today in order to lobby for his preferred candidate, Paolo Marcheschi, while Raffaele Pagnozzi was also in the running.

Grava won after two rounds of voting with 31 in favour, 13 for Pagnozzi and seven for Marcheschi.
