The midfielder was taken along from Empoli by Coach Maurizio Sarri when he made the leap to the Partenopei, signing a four-year contract with his new team.
“Napoli fear no-one, not in Italy, nor in Europe,” he told the magazine E' Azzurro. “I want to become important for this team.
“President [Aurelio] De Laurentiis sought me out and I need to reward his trust.
