Carpi had been unbeaten in 2016 until Wednesday night’s last-gasp 2-1 defeat at Fiorentina.

“Now we look forward and will try to be up to the task of this Napoli test. I’ve said for a while that Napoli are the favourites for the Scudetto, because they have quality, play beautiful and effective football that gets the best out of world class players.

Jonathan De Guzman arrived from Napoli in January, but is still not 100 per cent fit, while Emanuele Suagher has a muscular problem.
