Lazio say reports that President Claudio Lotito has sold Felipe Anderson to Manchester United are “devoid of any foundation”.

It was reported this morning that the Aquile patron had been overheard admitting to a €60m deal for the Brazilian midfielder.

“In reference to the statements attributed to President Claudio Lotito regarding the alleged sale of the player Felipe Anderson, SS Lazio notes that these reports are devoid of any foundation,” a statement on the club’s official website read.

The Red Devils were interested in Anderson in January, but were thought to be offering around €48m, casting doubt on the figures reported.
