“This day crowns an important phase in the life of this club. The work we’ve done is behind us and there’s no more time to be emotional, as we have to look forward. This is the first step to reinforce the club.
“So far, despite the results not responding the way they ought to, we have seen the fans are much closer to the team.
“Our future ambition is to improve and try to get back into Europe. It hasn’t gone well this year, we’ll do something to get it back on track, because the new arrivals haven’t yet gelled.
“I am convinced we’ll secure Serie A safety and soon emerge from the quicksand. This is not the position Udinese deserve and doesn’t represent the potential of the team.”
The Friulani host bottom of the table Verona on Sunday afternoon, a side that is attempting an incredible comeback.
“Evidently Verona have emerged from their crisis and showed how strong they are against an excellent side like Chievo.
“There is the risk that we can create too much tension around this game. We need to be calm and confident, but determined, when stepping on to the field.
“I am sure that when playing with temperament we will reap the rewards, because we can’t continue like this.”
