Lazio director Igli Tare confirms they are putting their eggs in the Europa League basket and slams the “20-30” racist fans.

The Biancocelesti made big changes to their side for tonight’s Serie A match with Atalanta.

“I am sure Ravel Morrison will have the opportunity to come off the bench during the game. There are players who haven’t featured much and today they have the chance to show what they can do,” Tare told Mediaset Premium.

“Considering tonight’s line-up, obviously progressing in the Europa League is an important objective for us. We used up a lot of energy in the game with Sparta Prague and it was right to make these decisions.”

Lazio will face disciplinary action from UEFA following racist abuse from fans aimed at Sparta Prague player Costa.

“We have to be very careful, because this is not the first time it has happened. It’s a terrible shame, because this damages the image of a city and a group of fans when it’s only 20 or 30 people who embarrass us all over Europe.

“I want to prudent and say it’s premature to talk about a ban.”
