The Foxes manager spoke to comedy programme Le Iene Show, which will air tomorrow evening on Italia Uno.

In a clip released ahead of time, the correspondents ask Ranieri to prove his superstition by declaring ‘we will not win the title.’

“No, no, no… We are fighting to get into Europe, that’s all,” replied the Coach.

He was gifted a red ‘cornetto’ – the symbol of superstition in Italy – and asked if he’d come to replace Antonio Conte on the Azzurri bench.

“No, I am happy here and I have a three-year contract.”

So this year you’re fighting to secure safety from relegation and next year hopefully…

“… to build something,” he laughed.

They even made Ranieri state the mission in English.

“All English colleagues are so optimistic about Leicester, but can we confirm that we will not win anything?”

“Yes!”
