Stephan El Shaarawy “never imagined such an adventure at Roma,” but warns his permanent transfer from Milan isn’t official.

The Little Pharaoh spent the first six months of the season on loan at Monaco, but was released back to Milan early and then turned over to the Giallorossi.

“I never imagined such an adventure at Roma, so I thank Luciano Spalletti,” El Shaarawy told Sky Sport Italia.

“I think my best goal was that back-heel flick against Frosinone. It was an emotional moment.”

He has scored seven goals in 14 Serie A games for the club, but his former teammates are struggling in seventh place.

“I am disappointed by Milan’s campaign and I honestly don’t know how I’ll feel when I’m back at San Siro against Milan next weekend.

“These have been three important months for me. I knew that I could not afford to slip up. I had the right spirit and sacrificed myself for the team.

“The Coach had faith in me and was a very important figure for me. I must continue like this, especially as the European Championships are coming up and it’s a significant year.

“I want to take part in this tournament and will be happy if my teammates Alessandro Florenzi and Daniele De Rossi are there too.”

Roma have an option to buy from Milan for €13m, but have not activated it yet.

“Nothing is official yet. I just have to focus on doing well in these last two games of the season and after that we’ll see what the club has decided.”
