Antonio Conte assures Italy “are finding our tactical system” during pre-Euro 2016 training. “I want a Team and I’m optimistic.”

The Azzurri face Scotland in tonight’s friendly, kicking off in Malta at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT).

“Hunger and sporting aggression are not enough by themselves,” the Coach told Rai Sport.

“To do well in a competition like the European Championship, we also need a tactical system and in these days of training we are finding it.”

Conte has been criticised for the lack of good football during his two-year tenure, but claims it was inevitable when having such little time to work with the players.

“In difficult moments we above all need intensity, so that we can always be in the game.

“I want a Team with a Capital T. It is the team that must get the best out of the individual talents.

“I am optimistic and I want to dream. I don’t know if qualification for the quarter-finals can be considered a success, but I do know we are able to surprise you.”
