Max Allegri "hopes" Paul Pogba will stay at Juventus and urged Alvaro Morata to remain too.

The Coach was interviewed on 'Che Tempo Che Fa' on Rai3 this evening.

"Gigi Buffon is staying, Pogba is staying, at least I hope he is…," grimaced Allegri.

"Morata? If I were him, I'd remain at Juventus.

"Morata? If I were him, I'd remain at Juventus. Right now he's on international duty and I hope he comes back to Turin afterwards.

"It has been an extraordinary year, the lads were just marvellous. The club too, because we made a lot of changes and lost many important players, so we knew of the difficulties.

"We hit the brakes after the Super Cup and gave the others a bit of a head start in Serie A…

"Juve must always win. The Champions League is the dream for everyone, but last year we did get into the Final."

Allegri looked back over his career and unsurprisingly had an amusing anecdote about ex-Cagliari President Massimo Cellino.

"I had a good rapport with all the Presidents I worked with. Silvio Berlusconi used to say 'If you are the teacher, then I am the Professor.'

"As for Cellino, after 1,000 washes our towels had become purple. When the President saw them, he put one in the opposition locker room.

"He also cannot abide to see the number 17, ever. In the squad list we never had a 17 either, so we always went from 16 to 18."

Purple is considered bad luck among entertainers – and Cellino is in a band – while the number 17 is the Italian equivalent of 13.
