Sassuolo President Giorgio Squinzi confirms “Domenico Berardi refused to join Juventus” and they’re interested in Andrea Ranocchia.

Juve had an option to buy Berardi for €25m, but he was concerned at the lack of regular playing time his former teammate Simone Zaza is getting in Turin.

“I can confirm Berardi refused to join Juventus, so he will stay with us,” Squinzi told FCInterNews.it.

“Could Inter get close to him? No, absolutely not. Domenico will not be going to Inter and it’s not in my intention to sell him to the Nerazzurri.”

There are reports of an exchange deal in the works between Ranocchia and Sassuolo defender Francesco Acerbi.

“I too read about that possibility, but I don’t think it’s true. I doubt this is at an advanced stage at all. Having said that, Ranocchia certainly remains an option for us.”
