Antonio Candreva seems ready to start for Italy against Spain, but Stephan El Shaarawy and Alessandro Florenzi are options.

The Euro 2016 clash is on Monday at 17.00 UK time (16.00 GMT).

Candreva missed Italy’s 1-0 defeat to the Republic of Ireland with a thigh problem, but is expected to be fit enough to play this Round of 16 tie.

If the Lazio winger doesn’t make it, then options for the right flank include Roma man Florenzi or El Shaarawy introduced on the left to move Matteo Darmian or Mattia De Sciglio over to the right.

Antonio Conte seems generally intent on fielding the same XI that started in the 2-0 victory over Belgium, by far their most impressive performance of the tournament.

That would also mean the return of Graziano Pellè and Eder as the front two.

Spain are trying to work out their tactics around Italy’s 3-5-2 system and could move Alvaro Morata to the left in order to spread the Azzurri defence.

Atletico Madrid midfielder Koke is tipped to step in and help cover potential Italian counter-attacks, dropping Nolito to the bench.

Italy (probable): Buffon; Barzagli, Bonucci, Chiellini; Candreva, Parolo, De Rossi, Giaccherini, Darmian; Eder, Pellè

Spain (probable): De Gea; Juanfran, Pique, Ramos, Alba; Iniesta; Lucas Vazquez, Busquets, Koke, Morata; Aduriz
