Felipe Anderson will take part in the Rio Olympics and apologised to Lazio for his protest, “but it’s a dream come true.”

The attacking winger postponed his arrival at pre-season training when told that he wouldn’t be released by his club for international duty with Brazil.

“I am sorry that I arrived late and I apologised for this, so I’m happy to have cleared the air with the club,” he told Lazio Style Radio.

The attacking winger postponed his arrival at pre-season training when told that he wouldn’t be released by his club for international duty with Brazil.

“I am sorry that I arrived late and I apologised for this, so I’m happy to have cleared the air with the club,” he told Lazio Style Radio.

“I am very motivated and thank the club for giving me the chance to take part in the Olympics. It’s a dream come true. I wasn’t on summer vacation, I just felt anxious because I didn’t know if I could go to the Olympics or not.

“The Lazio fans can count on me, I will give all of myself for this shirt and we want to achieve important objectives. The affection I receive here is incredible, today I walked to training because I wanted to talk to all the fans who travelled so far to see us.”

Brazil will have their Olympics debut against South Africa on August 4 in Brasilia, Felipe Anderson’s home town.
