According to the Italian media outlet, the Partenopei this afternoon offered the Nerazzurri €52m plus add-ons for their club captain.

However, the San Siro club are determined to hang on to their prized asset, with club President Erick Thohir stating that ‘we’re not going to sell him.’

Thohir’s Napoli counterpart Aurelio De Laurentiis is still reeling from losing Gonzalo Higuain to Juventus and is determined to make a statement of intent ahead of the new season.

Despite this and the fact that Icardi is said to be keen on a move to Campania, it appears the Azzurri will have to up their offer still further if they are to land their number one transfer target.
