Alessandro Diamanti claims he is 'enthusiastic' about moving to Palermo, and expects 'hard work above all else'.

The attacking midfielder, who joined the Sicilians on a two-year contract this summer, may have finally found some stability in his career after the last few convoluted moves from China through Atalanta.

“I came with great enthusiasm,” he said in his official presentation. “When my agent informed me that he was speaking with Palermo, I told him to go ahead right away. We found a deal immediately, as we all wanted this to happen.

“It's true that I never played here in the south. But I've always been appreciated by people here, even as an opponent, and this is something I liked.

“The team is young and strong, but we don't have a specific objective. We have to take things one game at a time, and always work with enthusiasm. That comes above all else.

“I've played in all positions upfront. The Coach will decide where to employ me.

“Going to China was a difficult decision but one I had to take, due to problems my club was having.

“I always did well in the teams I came into. So far I only trained twice, but my strength and my ability is fully available for everyone in the club.

“I'm a sociable and friendly person. I'd be happy to offer advice to the others, if asked. But for now all I'm thinking about is working and doing my utmost for the team.

“I've always been appreciated for my tenacity and I hope this can be true here as well.”
