Walter Zenga has been sacked by Wolverhampton Wanderers, the English club has confirmed.

The former goalkeeper has endured a turbulent past few years, having been sacked by Palermo after 13 games, Al-Nassr after 16, Al-Shaab after 10 and Sampdoria after 14.

“Wolves have announced that Walter Zenga’s contract has been terminated with immediate effect,” a statement confirmed.

“Stefano Cusin, Assistant Head Coach, has also left the Club. Wolves will be conducting a thorough process to recruit a new Head Coach and won’t be revealing any timescales associated with this important task.

“The Club would like to extend their thanks and best wishes to Walter and Stefano for their contribution to Wolves during the season so far.”

The departure comes after three months and 17 games in the English Championship.
